Mildly optimistic
So, my father and I went through the estimate together last night and were mighty dismayed by what we saw. He hiked up prices in places where the changes were miniscule at this point. For example, we added plumbing for a pot filler in the kitchen, and the pluming price bumped up 2k. A whole bunch of other stuff was $500 here, $80 there. So, basically it will probably end up costing the original bid, but it will be extremely stripped down. It's too bad. I really wanted to use this guy. But I'm really uncomfortable with his numbers at this point. He had it bid out to the penny for each component, and then he totally revised it.

So, I think we have to start over. We've found a couple of other people who are interested, and we'll go from there.

The Quest goes on. But now that we've made the decision, I'm feeling strangely relieved.
