Mom Jeans

A week and a half postpartum, and I'm fitting into my least-favorite Mom Jeans. You know the pair... They're tight in the waist and baggy everywhere else. You got them at TJ Max in a runthrough when you were supposed to be doing something else, and they fit and were $15 so you just bought them. Then suddenly they were the only "normal" jeans that fit through the first six weeks of your pregnancy. Now they're the only jeans I can find that I can zip.

Come on Moms... We all have MOM JEANS. Functional, cheap, unflattering, relatively comfortable, bought in haste. Let's hear it for Mom Jeans!!

On the plus side, I couldn't zip them two days ago.. So I'm moving in the right direction. Let's hear it for Breastfeeding! One of the most demanding, exhausting and painful parts of motherhood. But much lest demanding and exhausting than going to a gym to take off those X-tra pounds.

I'm a little loopy today... Girl was up from 4:00-6:30 AM. Then we slept through until 9:30. Somewhere during that last nap Eric came into bed with me for a snuggle and I was so exhausted I barely knew what I was doing. Poor little guy. I'm sure he knew the difference. But I did pick him up from school yesterday and I did his bath and bedtime stuff, so we are spending some time together. It's just hard...

More later. And remember my new motto: Mom Jeans! They're not so bad!
