The Son

Eric has been a little out of sorts over Kaylee's arrival, but mostly normal. He just cries more than usual. Last night we stayed up late doing a puzzle and missed the window for his bath. He was pounding on the bathroom door. Rich was in there, stinking up the joint as per usual.

I said "Daddy needs privacy to go to the bathroom."
Eric said, "I need privacy for my tubby!"

I don't think he has any idea what privacy is. I think he thought it was another word for bathroom.

Kaylee slept in 2 large chunks last night. She was up from about 2-3 nursing and getting her diaper changed. She seems to get that she's supposed to go back to sleep when it's dark and she's in bed with us. She nurses until she's really full and starts getting mad at my boobs. Then we switch to the pacifier which really helps her fall asleep. She woke up at six and was up for a couple of hours and now she's sleeping in her crib making little snorting noises. It really takes her forever to fall into a deep baby-sleep. When Eric was a baby you could do a puppet show with him after he'd been asleep for 5 minutes. He was un-rousable. Kaylee is pretty easy to wake.

They're both totally awesome.

I'm getting into my M-Leave groove for the most part. I take a lot of pride in getting done the most mundane of household chores. I like doing the laundry. I take a filthy, stinking pile of clothes, dump it into a machine and it comes out smelling like lavender, courtesy of these dryer-sachets I got at Trader Joes.

Rambling again...
