Halloween is coming! Yaay. My favorite holiday. We had hoped to be ensconced in our new abode by now, but it was not meant to be. Sigh. I think we're going to trick-or treat with Eric in our new neighborhood in spite of that. We are dressing Eric up as a "Telliton!" Rich got him a black shirt with glow-in-the-dark bones on it. It's been so cold, we'll probably ruin the effect with his little red coat but it will be so cute. I think this is probably the last year we'll get to pick his costume, but that's OK. I'm sure he'll want to be something fun for the next few years.
The house is still coming along. The floors were about 80% laid as of Saturday night. Hopefully they'll get the first coat of varnish on tonight, then the waiting game begins. (as if that's not what we're doing now). Once the floors are done, we're moving in. Rich has been over there every weekend painting and priming every chance he gets. I love the new floors. They're 2.5" oak. The color varies across the rooms and they're just beautiful. This whole process has been so arduous and expensive, but still so worth it. We'll have a really beautiful, functional house to raise our kids (yes, that's kids plural as of April 2006!)
